I really wanted to like these shoes because they are genuinely cute, but unfortunately the fit and construction just do not work well for me.My biggest issue is the heel area. The buckle is attached with a very thin strip of elastic, and the heel strap itself has a lot of extra play. I wondered at first whether I had simply ordered a size too large, but based on where my toes sit at the front of the shoe, the overall length seems appropriate. The problem is that my heel can move around so much that I can actually take the shoe off without even unbuckling the ankle strap. That makes the shoe feel less secure than I would want, especially for something with a heel. The ankle strap is also completely independent of the rest of the shoe and can rotate all the way around. That part does not really bother me by itself, but combined with the loose heel strap it adds to the feeling that my foot is not being held securely in place.Comfort is another problem for me. The heel is not especially high, but the angle of the shoe puts a lot of my weight directly onto the ball of my foot. There is very little cushioning in that area, so they became uncomfortable for me very quickly. This could certainly vary depending on foot shape and anatomy, and while I do not normally wear a wide width, I occasionally need one, so that may also play a role.At $49.99 at the time of this review, I expected the fit and construction to feel more secure. They are attractive shoes and I really wanted them to work, but between the loose heel strap, minimal cushioning, and the amount of movement around my foot, I would not personally feel comfortable wearing these out for any length of time.
